The RGBlink Mini MX is a professional 4 channel video and 8 channel audio mixer for productions, live events and streaming events. It is operated via mechanical controls, the 5.5" touch display or via connected notebooks/tablets with the free RGBlink app. The joystick and zoom rocker allow control of up to 4 PTZ cameras using the VISCA protocol. Video signals, images for chroma-key cross-fades, subtitles and logos can be layered in different layers and scaled and cropped as desired. Numerous transition modes, storable scene settings and recallable sound effects guarantee a professional result. The intuitive controls make the Mini MX the perfect compagnon for events and hybrid events, additionally the programme stream can be recorded on an external USB memory.
Inputs
The Mini MX has 4 HDMI 2.0 inputs with a maximum resolution of up to 4K60p. The built-in scaler processes camera or notebook signals with different resolutions and frames. Up to 4 embedded audio streams can be mixed in via rotary controls or switched automatically via the "Audio follows Video" function. The two XLR sockets, one with 48V phantom power, are used to connect microphones and the 6.35mm TRS jack as an additional audio input. Smartphones or tablets can be connected via Bluetooth and another audio stream transferred to the Mini MX. These 4 audio inputs can be controlled via sliders and monitored or muted via 2 buttons for each source. If required, an audio delay of up to 300ms is possible to keep the different signals perfectly synchronised. The mixer is powered via the supplied USB-C PD power supply unit with a consumption of max. 36 watts.
Integrated PTZ camera control
Up to 4 PTZ cameras can be panned, tilted or zoomed at variable speeds using the universal VISCA protocol. Control is via the joystick and zoom rocker, on the 5.5" touch display or remotely via the RGBlink app. 16 different camera positions can be stored and recalled in the scenario presets.
Outputs
The video signals are output via 2 HDMI 1.3 interfaces as a programme stream to a large display or as a preview stream to an external preview monitor. The 3.5 mm jack socket is used to connect headphones in order to monitor and mix the various sound sources in advance. Audio signals can also be fed into an amplifier via the 6.35 mm TRS jack.
Functions
The Mini MX allows the creation of 16 different scene presets that store the positions of the video layers, background image of the chroma keying and PTZ camera viewing angle. These presets can also be saved and recalled during live operation. When switching, either via the T-bar or directly via buttons, 15 transition modes and variable time windows are available to the user. The Chroma-Keyer can be used to create countless virtual reality applications. Multi-layered layers of two video streams, a background image, subtitles, OSD text or logo can be created, scaled and cropped as desired, adding a professional touch to any production. The 5.5" touch display has various display options: Preview mode, full screen, audio monitor and the individual menus for configuration. 16 sound clips can be stored in a database and mixed in at any time. All settings and controls are also possible via the RGBlink Xpose app using a smartphone, tablet or notebook. All buttons are assigned different colours so that the current status can be easily interpreted. An integrated holder allows smartphones or tablets to be held in the user's field of vision. Weighing approx. 1.5 KG, it rests firmly on its non-slip rubber feet; alternatively, permanent installation is possible via a ¼"-20 tripod thread or a VESA Mount 100 x 100 mm on the underside. Future firmware updates can be downloaded free of charge from the RGBlink website and installed via USB stick.
Recording
The programme stream can be recorded as an H.264 MP4 file at up to 80 MB/s via the USB-C interface or with the included adapter cable on USB 3.0 compatible media. The maximum memory size for USB sticks is 64 GB, for SSDs 2 TB.
Streaming
The Mini MX uses the advanced H.265 codec to send streams in various bitrates directly from the mixer over an IP network to up to 2 streaming platforms simultaneously. With the TAO app for Android and iOS, even up to 32 platforms can be recorded in parallel. The output can be switched to portrait mode to display content in social media.
Application examples
The RGBlink Mini MX Production Mixer is a powerful tool for events, conferences, trainings, sporting events, church services or concerts. Its numerous interfaces allow simultaneous processing of multiple video and audio sources and are compatible with current event technology. The RGBlink Xpose and TAO apps for smartphones/tablets facilitate operation and turn it into a modern control center with up to 32 parallel output streams. Hybrid video presentation can be done simultaneously on-site via a large display or on a projector, in parallel on multiple streaming platforms and as a recording on USB media for later playback. Integrated PTZ camera control allows up to 4 PTZ cameras to be operated by one operator to avoid high production costs.
